Born in the grass
To a caring mother
The rain pouring down on my face
The freezing wind in my mane
Joy in my eyes
This foal was born
This foal took a spot in my heart
One day I know
Growing and Learning
Upon the wide land
Racing with the others
A young colt thrills
One day a big truck showed up
With humans inside it
They dragged off my brother
My mother was scared
My father was brave
My friend who was free
Now a slave
A great army soo showed
Full with strong men
Captured my small heard
of my father and ten
We where shoved in this dark truck
Which drove along
We were all scared for our lives
Which we don't have long
No food
The water was less
In the tiny dim light
We awaited
At last we could see daylight again
We were jabbed at with forks
from the hands of men
and herded through gates
Narrow and Tall
I still have my mother
So I don't fall
I smell a strange thing
An instinctive smell
It frightens me
I twist and wrench
Squeeze and squirm
I try to break free
Other horse are crying for help
My mother stays quiet
I think she knows the reason to all this
So I calm down a bit
and trust her age
I soon see a dark stallion
exploding in rage
He is clashing on the fencing
Soon the men were forking him again
The horse soon coughs up red fluid
He quickly drowns
They soon dragged him off
with rope around his neck
I soon squeal in horror
seeing him dead before me
My mother now shows fear
for her and for me
the bars are too high
The men already won
Now we are inside
Where the smell was so strong
That even the foals around me
Know know what's going on
I no longer try to struggle
as I wade through all the blood
My mom says she loves me
and knew that she would
That was the moment
before we were apart
As the man with the knife
jabbed it in her heart
He stabbed her again
Once more in the head
She squeals before she dies
She than fell like the rest
To the moving belt
Which beckons my soul
Now the knife is coming for me
And so...I must go
